Whether you have it at home or you have it at work, stress is going to be a natural part of life.

What is workplace stress?
Workplace stress, is the response to work demands and pressures that could be out of one's knowledge or capacity, and as a result, interferes with their ability to cope. In a study that was reported by Forbes, 79% of employees in the U.S. experience workplace stress.
This can lead to lack of motivation in the workplace, loss of productivity, increased use of sick leave, and/or exacerbate mental and physical health issues.
In the short-term, this causes only strain and acute stress. In the long-term, it can negatively impact health and create chronic stress.
Common Effects:
Mood swings
Aggravation
Depression
Anxiety
Loss of appetite
Weight loss
Strains in interpersonal relationships
Increased risk for cardiovascular diseases
Malnutrition
Mental health problems
What Can We Do?
It is important to promote healthy work-life balance. Whether that start at the workplace itself, or begin at home by the employee. The idea to leave work at work, and not bring it home with you is key in this. That means practicing mindfulness, incorporating meditation and exercise, eating healthy to fuel the body and mind, making time for yourself outside of work to do the things you enioy, etc. When this doesn't happen, people experience neglecting time spent with their loved ones as they try to cope with their stress.
